Hauppauge, New York –Communications Specialties, Inc. (CSI) announced the immediate availability of the Fiberlink 3360 Series 3G/HD/SD-SDI fiber optic transmission system with AES/EBU digital audio embedding support. The Fiberlink 3360 Series allows you to transmit 3G, HD or SD-SDI as per SMPTE 424M-2006, 292 and 259 with the ability to embed up to 8 channels (4 pairs) of AES/EBU digital audio. Convenient switches on the 3360 Series transmitter allow the operator to embed each of the four pairs of audio independently, to strip previously serialized audio, or to pass it through without modification. At the receive end of the fiber optic link, the operator can decide which audio pairs they need de-embedded. Audio signals are not required to operate the Fiberlink 3360 link and it can be used as a stand-alone 3G/HD/SD-SDI optical link. Previously serialized data is left intact throughout the entire transmission process and the 3360 Series is immune to pathological signals over the entire budget link and operating temperature range. Signals are equalized and re-clocked prior to fiber optic transmission and the 3361 receiver features a re-clocked and equalized SDI output. The 3360 Series is compliant with SMPTE 297-2006 and has the ability to operate seamlessly with Fiberlink Matrix and other SMPTE 297-2006 fiber optic compliant devices. Available in card versions and a small footprint box version, it is ideal for broadcast or corporate studios, OB vans, rental and staging, auditoriums, stadiums and theaters, airport or transportation hubs, distance learning, surgical or medical imaging and more!

Hauppauge, New York – Communications Specialties, Inc. (CSI) announces the new Scan Do® SD today at InfoComm. The Scan Do SD (Model 1295) converts DVI & Analog RGB computer video, up to 1920x1200, into a SMPTE standard SD-SDI signal for integration into a professional video or projection system, video conferencing system, or integration into other video distribution channels. “We are very proud to introduce the Scan Do SD, broadcast quality scan converter,” says Paul Seiden, Director of Sales. “Our customers will be pleased to have one unit that can receive a digital or an analog input and output SMPTE compliant SD-SDI at the push of a button with no additional hardware or software, ” adds Paul. Scan Do SD comes equipped with two copper outputs, per SMPTE 259. The unit accepts digital DVI and analog RGB input sources through its DVI-I connector and provides a convenient DVI-I Loop Through port. The Scan Do SD can genlock to black burst and provides the operator with precision genlock phasing controls. Each Scan Do SD comes standard with rich features such as Pan, Zoom, push-button Preset creation, storage and recall, EDID capture and storage, and an intuitive HTML-based Graphical User Interface (GUI). The operator can command and control all of the Scan Do SD’s functionality by utilizing RS-232 or the HTML-based GUI. The unit’s firmware and GUI interface is field upgradeable via the Ethernet port.
Today at NAB, Communications Specialties, Inc. (CSI) announced the Fiberlink 3350 Series 3G/HD/SD-SDI fiber optic transmission system. The Fiberlink 3350 Series allows you to transmit 3G, HD or SD-SDI as per SMPTE 424M-2006, 292 and 259, with or without embedded audio and data, as well as DVB-ASI over one single mode or multimode fiber. Signals are equalized and re-clocked prior to fiber optic transmission. Communications Specialties, Inc. (CSI) announced an all new Scan Do® HD today at NAB. The Scan Do HD (Model 1298) converts DVI & Analog RGB computer video, up to 1920x1200, into a SMPTE standard 3G, HD, or SD-SDI signal for on air broadcast, integration into a professional video system, or integration into other broadcast distribution channels. “We are very proud to introduce the industry’s first 3G capable, broadcast quality scan converter,” says Paul Seiden, Director of Sales. “Our customers will be pleased to have one unit that can receive a digital or an analog input and output SMPTE compliant SD, HD or 3G-SDI at the push of a button. This level of flexibility is very important because the broadcast professional may be using 1080i for their broadcast distribution, but they require the 1080p resolutions that only 3G can provide for their other digital distribution channels, ” adds Paul. Scan Do HD comes equipped with two copper outputs, per SMPTE 424M-2006, 292 and 259, and one SMPTE 297-2006 compliant fiber optic output. The unit accepts digital DVI and analog RGB input sources through its DVI-I connector and provides a convenient DVI-I Loop Through port.
