CSI introduces Fiberlink® Bidirectional 3G/HD/SD-SDI over one fiber!

Hauppauge, New York – Today, Communications Specialties, Inc. (CSI) introduced the Fiberlink® 3352 Series of transceivers that distribute two independent channels of 3G/HD/SD-SDI over one fiber in opposite directions: one upstream, one downstream. Unique to the Fiberlink 3352 is that it is a transceiver; the same unit is used both upstream and downstream making installation a snap! All SMPTE compliant signals are equalized and reclocked and each unit comes equipped with a BNC loop-through for continuous copper extension of the two input signals. Each unit features two reclocked, non-inverting BNC outputs. The 3352 Series is compliant with SMPTE 259M-2006, 292-2006, 424M-2006 and supports the transmission of SMPTE 305M-2005, 310M-2004, 344M-2000 and DVB-ASI. Best of all, the series is immune to pathological patterns over entire link budget and operating temperature range. For maximum flexibility, the units may be configured with ST or LC optical connectors. Fiberlink 3352 Series is ideal for any broadcast or professional video application: broadcast studios, sporting events, confidence monitoring, OB vans, video conferencing and more! "Broadcast engineers have long sought the ability to transmit multiple 3G-SDI signals over a single fiber," says Paul Seiden, Director of Sales. "The Fiberlink 3352 Series delivers that in a low cost, high value package that provides exceptional performance and flexibility." CSI Announces Copperlink™ 3G/HD/SD-SDI to HDMI Converter

Hauppauge, New York - Communications Specialties, Inc. (CSI) announced the latest additions to the Copperlink™ Series of SMPTE compliant 3G/HD/SD-SDI signal distribution systems: Model 2353 that converts 3G/HD/SD-SDI and embedded audio to HDMI with stereo audio. The Copperlink 2353 accepts a SMPTE compliant 3G/HD/SD-SDI input via coax, automatically detects and selects the output resolution with no scaling and converts it to HDMI. If audio is present in the SDI data stream, the operator can choose one of up to 8 pairs of stereo audio to embed into the HDMI baseband signal as well as output on the convenient audio RCA connections. Alternatively, the operator may choose to mute any existing audio. "This new Copperlink HDMI converter is ideal for all broadcast applications," says Paul Seiden, Director of Sales. "Now, integrators and broadcast engineers can manage their video and audio signals in a very repeatable and predictable manner using SDI while cost effectively integrating low-cost, high definition displays and computer monitors. A confidence monitoring application for example; you can route and switch your SDI signal to multiple HDMI displays and select a different language or audio pair to output at each display without having to purchase expensive, production quality reference displays." The Copperlink 2353 supports SMPTE 259M, 292 and 424M-2006 and the input signal is equalized and reclocked. Standard on Copperlink 2353 is a reclocked BNC loop output for continuous 3G/HD/SD-SDI signal distribution. The unit is immune to pathological signals over the entire operating temperature range. Available in a small footprint box, it is ideal for broadcast or corporate studios, OB vans, confidence monitoring and more! Copperlink 2353 will be available in Spring, 2011. CSI Now Shipping New Fiberlink® 3G/HD/SD-SDI with 10/100 Ethernet and 2 Channels of RS-Type Data fiber optic transmission system!

Hauppauge, New York - Today, Communications Specialties, Inc. (CSI) announced the immediate availability of the Fiberlink® 3370 Series of 3G/HD/SD-SDI with 10/100 Ethernet and RS-Type Data family of products. The 3370 Series has a unique characteristic that allows Ethernet and 2 channels of bi-directional RS-Type data along with SMPTE compliant 3G/HD/SD-SDI to be transmitted over one single mode fiber or two multimode fibers. "The ability to distribute 1080p 3G-SDI with both Ethernet and RS-Type control data over a single fiber offers the broadcast engineer significant time and financial savings," says Paul Seiden, Director of Sales. "Remote broadcast vehicles such as OB trucks, can now maximize their limited number of fibers and reduce the timely set-up of multiple devices by taking control and command of their remote cameras utilizing only one product and one or two fibers. Of course, these benefits apply to broadcast and studio facilities as well." The series transmits 3G, HD or SD-SDI as per SMPTE 424M-2006, 292 and 259 and is immune to pathological signals over the entire budget link and operating temperature range. Signals are equalized and re-clocked prior to fiber optic transmission and the receiver features a re-clocked SDI output. All data channels are available simultaneously and convenient switches on the transmitter allow the operator to configure each of the two pairs of data independently. Data signals are not required to operate the link and it can be used as a stand-alone
3G/HD/SD-SDI optical link. Previously embedded audio that is present in the SDI stream is left intact throughout the entire transmission process. Available in both a card and a small footprint box version, the Fiberlink 3370 Series is ideal for broadcast or corporate studios, OB Vans, Point-of-View Cameras, surgical or medical imaging, auditoriums, stadiums and theaters, airport or transportation hubs, distance learning, and more! For more information on the complete line of Fiberlink® fiber optic transmission systems, visit commspecial.com or contact CSI headquarters at: Phone: (631) 273-0404, Fax: (631) 273-1638 or Email: info@commspecial.com. CSI Announces the industry’s first 3G-SDI Scan Converter at NAB

Communications Specialties, Inc. (CSI) announced an all new Scan Do® HD today at NAB. The Scan Do HD (Model 1298) converts DVI & Analog RGB computer video, up to 1920x1200, into a SMPTE standard 3G, HD, or SD-SDI signal for on air broadcast, integration into a professional video system, or integration into other broadcast distribution channels. “We are very proud to introduce the industry’s first 3G capable, broadcast quality scan converter,” says Paul Seiden, Director of Sales. “Our customers will be pleased to have one unit that can receive a digital or an analog input and output SMPTE compliant SD, HD or 3G-SDI at the push of a button. This level of flexibility is very important because the broadcast professional may be using 1080i for their broadcast distribution, but they require the 1080p resolutions that only 3G can provide for their other digital distribution channels, ” adds Paul. Scan Do HD comes equipped with two copper outputs, per SMPTE 424M-2006, 292 and 259, and one SMPTE 297-2006 compliant fiber optic output. The unit accepts digital DVI and analog RGB input sources through its DVI-I connector and provides a convenient DVI-I Loop Through port.
