CSI Demonstrates How Fiberlink® 3352 Series Transceivers Provide Bidirectional 3G/HD/SD-SDI Over One Fiber, at NAB 2012

Distribution of Two Independent Channels -- Upstream and Downstream-- For Maximum Application Flexibility

April 16, 2012

LAS VEGAS, NV -- April 16, 2012 -- Communications Specialties, Inc. (CSI), a leading worldwide provider of fiber optic transmission technology for the video and broadcast industry, announced it will showcase its line of FiberlinkĀ® 3352 Series transceivers at NAB 2012. The Fiberlink transceivers have the unique ability to distribute two independent channels of 3G/HD/SD-SDI over one fiber in opposite directions -- one upstream / one downstream, for maximum application flexibility.

All signals are equalized and reclocked and each unit comes equipped with a BNC loop-through for continuous copper extension of the two input signals. In addition, the entire Fiberlink 3352 Series is immune to pathological patterns over all link budgets and operating temperature ranges. For maximum flexibility, the units may be configured with ST or LC optical connectors and the same transceiver is used at both ends of the optical link.

The 3352 Series is fully compliant with all applicable SMPTE standards and supports the transmission of DVB-ASI. The transceivers are ideal for any broadcast or professional video application including broadcast studios, sporting events, confidence monitoring, OB vans, video conferencing, and more.

"Broadcast engineers have been seeking ways to transmit bidirectional 3G-SDI signals over a single fiber," says Paul Seiden, Director of Sales at CSI. "The Fiberlink 3352 Series delivers that need in a low cost, high value package that provides exceptional performance, flexibility, and easy installation."
