1. Locate TwinSplit or QuadSplit within close proximity of the
computer.
2. Connect coaxial cable from the monitor output of the computer to

cables from the computer to the input connectors marked H/CS
(Horizontal/Composite Sync) and/or V (Vertical Sync).
3. If you are using an adapter cable, such as an HD-15 to 5 BNC cable
or other adapter cable, connect that adapter to the input and/or
output as necessary for the computer type you are using.
4. Connect the monitor(s) to the
red, green, blue, H/CS

on the rear of TwinSplit or QuadSplit. Monitor extension cables
(CAB-43) may be used to extend the distance up to 200 feet.
5. Plug the supplied 9 Vdc wall power transformer into the jack marked
Power
on the rear of TwinSplit or QuadSplit.
6. Plug the power transformer into a 110 Vac wall outlet as appropriate.
The front panel LED should glow red indicating the unit is properly
powered.
7. Turn on the computer and the monitor(s). The monitor(s) will now
display the computer’s output.
System Operation
TwinSplit and QuadSplit require no ongoing adjustments once
they are installed. They are designed to work continuously and can
be placed “out of sight” if desired. The design intention of the product
is to provide a reliable means of extending the viewing position of
Communications Specialties - Splitters TwinSplit Manual
RGB monitors. They can also be used to drive multiple monitors
at the same time.
Additionally, each monitor output is independently buffered. This
ensures isolation and proper signal levels, regardless of the number
of monitors used. The splitters may be cascaded to achieve muliple
outputs at different distances from the computer. Communications
Specialties can help with specific application assistance.
Please note that the plug-in transformer will feel warm after the
unit is on for a period of time. This is normal, as TwinSplit and QuadSplit
draw a signficant amount of power.
